Forget the vacuum cleaners, Kmart mums are onto a new 'wet or dry' household item they say has replaced their mop, broom, vacuum and window washed - and it is just six dollars.

The 'amazing' cleaning tool is a rubber broom with a squeegee blade - and is the next 'must have item' from the popular discount department store.

One mother who 'finally got her hands on one' of the rubber cleaning tools claims the results 'speak for themselves'.

'Kmart mums' are replacing their brooms, mops and vacuums with a rubber broom

'This broom has picked up more than our vacuum and the carpet looks amazing,' she said.

The mother added a photograph of the theatre room showing a clear line between the 'vacuumed side' and 'rubber broomed' side.

And she didn't appear to be the only happy customer.

'Wait until you use it to scrub the bathroom floor... it is quicker and better than any mop,' one woman said.

'It is great for cleaning the outside of your  windows too, wet, soapy clean with the bristled then squeegee off with a blade.'

The brooms are so popular many mums said 'it took ages' for them to find them - as they are often sold out.

And the utensil appears to pass the pet test too - with dog owners impressed with how well it deals with unsightly hairs.

'It is amazing if you have pets,' one woman said.

Another clarified she uses hers to get the hair off her couch, and said it gets rid of 'every thing' from hair to crumbs and dirt.

Other mums questioned the effectiveness - before fans of the broom chimed in.
